We are the Yribarren’s, a third generation farm family from Tranquillity, California. Our farm is located in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California. Agriculture remains the primary industry in the Central Valley, which makes it one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world. It is commonly referred to as the "fruit basket of the world." Most crops grown in this region are non-tropical crops such as tomatoes, almonds, grapes, cotton, grains, and over 300 other farm commodities. We are very proud to be associated with an industry that has been a part of American history, since before the United States became a country.
In 1993 we produced the successful and nationally accepted educational program Cotton’s Journey. Over the years we have received requests to develop similar programs for other farm commodities, hence Clever Farmer was created.Here you will learn about the more than 17 million American farmers who are working hard to bring you the best, safest and economical food source in the world.Also, we want to help educators teach about the many farm products we eat and use everyday.The Teachers Corner provides curriculum meeting National standards, and supporting resources may be found in the Farmers Market. We also know how difficult it is to acquire funds for additional classroom supplies, materials and outings. So coming soon will be fund raising opportunities to defray cost for those supplemental elements that your classroom can not afford.
Our goal is to enrich your student's learning experience through fun and innovative hands-on activities and curriculum, which may be incorporated into established core subject lesson plans.
